According to a recent AP article, Costco wants to cut it's use of boxes for displsys, packing etc..
If the bags work out, Costco plans to ask their merchandise suppliers to stop packing products in boxes and put them on pallets instead, according to Joe Portera, COO of Costco's eastern and Canadian divisions.
"It would save money not only for us but for manufacturers," he said. "It would ultimately reduce the amount of waste and recycling that's necessary with cardboard."

That's weird. I don't think our normal Costco load would fit in less than a good dozen of those things. :)
They're pretty big, and durable too. Almost a full basket fit into three bags.
Cool. Might have to look into them. :) But isn't re-using their old boxes really even more "green" in reality?
I was thinking the same thing. I guess it depends if you recycle the boxes you get from them, and whether they recycle their extra boxes.
Regardless, I plan to use these at WinCo also so I think it's a good thing.
